After visiting Fuyuan Forest Recreation Area in August this year, I didn’t expect to return so soon. Once again, I chose the same location to record, hoping to capture the natural sounds of the area and compare how the soundscape changes with the seasons.
As expected, the sound of the stream remained prominent in the background. What surprised me, however, was how active the insects still were. Their calls remained sharp and loud at night, sometimes even piercing to the ear. I couldn’t help wondering whether they were still in their breeding season.
The first recording begins at around 5:30 p.m., capturing the transition from dusk into night. The cicada calls during the first 25 minutes are sounds I know all too well. I remember that when I was a child, the summers in Taipei were filled with waves of cicada calls that rose and fell like the ocean. At some point, though, these sounds gradually disappeared from my life.
The second recording was made at 6 a.m. At this hour, the insects were not yet as active as they had been the previous evening, creating a distinctly different morning soundscape.

富源森林, 2026年10月
今年 8 月造訪富源森林遊樂區後，沒想到自己會在這麼短的時間內再次回到這裡。這次我同樣選擇在上次錄音的地點進行錄音，希望能再次記錄這裡的自然聲音，並比較不同季節之間的差異。
如同預期，溪流聲依然十分明顯，持續出現在錄音的背景中。不過，讓我意外的是，這裡的昆蟲鳴叫依舊如此熱鬧。尤其到了夜間，鳴聲仍然尖銳而響亮，甚至有些刺耳，讓人不禁好奇，牠們是否仍處於繁殖期。
第一段錄音約於下午 5 點 30 分開始，記錄了從黃昏逐漸入夜的聲景。開頭約 25 分鐘的蟬鳴，是我再熟悉不過的聲音。記得小時候，台北市區的夏天曾有著如海浪般起伏不斷的蟬鳴。然而，不知從什麼時候開始，這樣的聲音便逐漸從我的生活中消失了。
第二段錄音則是在清晨 6 點錄製。相較於前一段，此時的蟲鳴還沒有那麼活躍，呈現出與夜晚截然不同的清晨聲景。
