Ilulissat is located on the west coast of Greenland and has become a popular Arctic tourist destination. Its most famous attraction is the Ilulissat Icefjord, which draws visitors from around the world every summer.
This recording was made in the spring of 2025, from the balcony of the guesthouse where we were staying. I pointed the microphones toward Disko Bay. The temperature was around −15°C, and the sea ice had not yet completely melted. Only the areas near the shore had begun to thaw, exposing patches of open water. The birds had gathered around these open waters to feed.
I wasn't able to identify the exact species of the birds in the recording, but they seemed to fall into two general groups: one appeared to be some kind of gull, while the other consisted of ducks that would dive underwater.
In the recording, you can clearly hear their calls, the sound of their wings flapping, and the splashing of the water as they dive beneath the surface and resurface.

格陵蘭伊盧利薩特, 2025年4月
伊盧利薩特位於格陵蘭西岸，如今是熱門的北極旅遊目的地。這裡最著名的景觀是冰峽灣，每年夏季都有來自世界各地的遊客前來。
這段錄音是在 2025 年春季錄製的，地點就在我們入住的民宿陽台外。我將麥克風朝向迪斯科灣，當時氣溫約為零下 15 度，海冰尚未完全融化，只有靠近岸邊的部分已經解凍，露出海水。鳥兒們也因此聚集到這些開放水域覓食。
至於錄到的鳥類，我無法確定牠們的確切種類，但大致可以分為兩類：一種應該是某種海鷗，另一種則是會潛入水中的鴨類。
在錄音中，可以清楚聽見牠們的鳴叫、振翅，以及潛入水中與浮出水面時所產生的聲音。
